What is Songl?
Songl is an on-demand music subscription service that has been designed and made in Australia with Australian music lovers in mind. Songl is ready to spread the home grown love by offering its subscribers instant access to millions of tunes from over 100,000 artists that are ready to stream now, with new tracks from all the major labels and independents being added daily. Songl will allow you to access your music from your PC, Mac, iPhone, Android phone or Sonos device.What is the size of the Music Catalogue?
Songl has millions of tracks form over 100,000 artists. We currently have Universal Music, EMI Music, and Sony Music catalogues together with a strong representation of independent labels.What mobile apps are available?
Mobile apps are available for iPhone and Android phones. You can obtain the Songl app from the iTunes App store or the Android Market respectively. We are considering the development of application of apps for other devices but have no firm dates for release.I was a Anubis.fm and Sonos user, what do I need to know?
The key information you need to know is:
- Your Anubis.fm login and password will still work on Songl from Wednesday 16th November 2011.
- Your Anubis.fm Premium membership (or existing free trial) will be honoured and continued as a Songl Premium membership till your next monthly anniversary date (after which it will not automatically renew) AND you will be given a further FREE 30 day trial on Songl from that date.
- At the end of the 30 day free trial, we will request that you re-enter your payment details to continue as a Songl Premium member.
- There may be a temporary reduction in the number of artists and tracks available on Songl while we complete licensing with a major label. We hope to be back to business as usual as soon as possible.
What are the system requirements to allow me to view Songl?
In order to experience the full functionality of Songl you will need one of the following web browsers:- Mozilla Firefox - version 3.0 and above
- Safari - version 3.0 and above
- Google Chrome version X and above
Javascript and Cookies must also be enabled
What countries is Songl available in?
Australia, although we hope to offer this service to other countries in the near future. I am having some difficulty in viewing some sections of the Songl website. What should I do?
If your computer meets each of the web browser requirements go to the Songl support page and send us a support request. Please try and provide as much information about your particular issue as possible and our support team will get back to you as soon as possible.For Premium members, what are the rules around caching tracks on your phone ?
- A user can cache up to 1000 tracks
- A user can only play these tracks if they are on an authorised device
- A user can only play these tracks if they are a current subscriber
- The system will check at least every 7 days to ensure a subscriber is still current
- If the user has not been authorised for longer than 7 days, the cached content is no longer available
- If a user has not been authorised for over 30 days, cached content is deleted from the device
- All cached content is locked to the device via DRM
How do I get Songs to cache on the phone applications?
- For the iphone app, we employ intelligent caching, where all songs automatically cache on the phone after they have been played for greater than 30 seconds. Songs are then available in offline mode.
- For the Android app, we employ intelligent caching as per the iphone application. There is also an option to manually cache albums.
When will payment options be available for Songl ?
Currently all membership is based on a 30 Day free trial. We will contact you 7 days before your trial will expire with details on how to add your payment details.On my iPhone there is no content in My Playlists, or any playlists?
This will be because you started the application with no internet connectivity. Close the application fully (including from the background) , connect to the internet via Wi FI or 3G and restart the app. The app will then synch with your account and bring in all the playlist data.
